Major MCU Updates: Spider-Man, Hulk, Vision Quest, and Future Storylines
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will build his own gadgets in future projects.
Zendaya and Holland were reportedly excited about the script; the version moving forward is the one they read.
The main villain is described as "simpler, meaner, badder" and was "technically spoiled" by Tom Holland in an interview.
Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) is confirmed to appear; other heroes may cameo briefly.
MIT will play an antagonistic role in MJ’s storyline (Marvel’s fictional version).
Sony made undisclosed requests in exchange for Marvel proceeding with Brand New Day.
Hulk
Hulk will be "scarier than ever before" in Brand New Day and Doomsday, with potential lethal consequences.
World War Hulk/Planet Hulk content is still in development.
No solo films are currently planned for Hulk or Namor.
Hulk, Spider-Man, and Punisher will all appear in Doomsday, but Yelena’s role in Brand New Day is not directly related to setting this up.
Punisher
The upcoming Punisher special will explain how the character ends up in the events of Brand New Day.
A future team-up between Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Punisher is planned, with more characters involved.
Vision Quest
Vision Quest is expected to release mid-to-late 2026, between Brand New Day and Doomsday.
Ruaridh Mollica is confirmed to be playing a reincarnation of Tommy Maximoff.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will connect to the MCU through Vision Quest.
Midnight Sons & Horror Genre
Marvel plans to lean further into the horror genre for the next saga.
Moon Knight is still in the same status—possibly joining Midnight Sons.
Beyond the Spider-Verse
Alex Perez responded to a question with the lyrics: “And I would walk five hundred miles…”—possibly teasing Miles Morales content without direct confirmation.
Other Marvel Notes
A visit to The Raft is planned in Doomsday; a version of the Secret Wars “raft” is also in development.
Cloak and Dagger are not planned for MCU canon reinstatement.
Alternate universes featuring villainous “Avengers-like individuals” are in the works, but not evil Avengers.
A “reset” is coming to the MCU, but will preserve 75–80% of the timeline; some events will be erased or revised, including resurrections.
